Lindsay, better known online as Lid or ArtByLid, is a 26 year old illustrator and cartoonist based in Sydney, Australia. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, she graduated with a BFA with an emphasis in Illustration from Otis College of Art in 2022. Her body of work is heavily focused on digital pieces that portray fleeting moments during queer adolescence and young adulthood. She’s interested in where girlhood/boyhood, sexuality, and gender intersect. Lindsay experienced her adolescence as a closeted lesbian, and uses her work as a vehicle to explore and relive her formative teen years in a more fulfilling way. She hopes that her art gives other queer people a sense of comfort or nostalgia for an adolescence of unabashed freedom that they perhaps didn’t get to experience either.
